Period Review

 

Use a period at the end of a complete sentence.

 

  • I wore a duck costume to work today.
  • My aunt gave me a jar of pickled eggs.
  • My brother went skiing last week.

 

Use a period when stating someone’s initials.

 

  • She signed her name as S.M. Dieppe.
  • In her book, L.M. Montgomery describes life in Prince Edward Island at the turn of the century.
  • J.R.R. Tolkein wrote one of the most famous fantasy books in the world.

 

Use a period after “Mr.”, “Mrs.”, or “Ms.”, but not “Miss”.

 

  • Mr. and Mrs. Rubasingham rent rooms to students.
  • Miss Jones met with Ms. Cyr at Tim Horton’s coffee shop.
  • Miss Mudry will become Mrs. Duchesne after her marriage next week.
